Zurich is both the largest city in Switzerland and the financial capital of the country. Thanks to its very low tax rates, it has become home to some of the biggest multinationals worldwide. It has a wealthy population, along with many well-known international jet-setters. However, this is not all the country has to offer. Zurich is also known as having a very high quality of life with a strong cultural vivacity. This is thanks to its many art galleries, which place the country amongst the top ten best markets for international art: there are more than 50 museums and 100 art galleries along the bank of Limmat, to please everybody’s taste. The treasure hunt can continue with a tour of the churches of Altstadt, the historic center: the stunning stained-glass windows of the Fraumünster were created by Marc Chagall. The romantic walkway along the Limmat is a fairy-tale-like experience, strolling amongst the exclusive buildings of the historic center, some of which go back to the medieval period. Zurich is also one of the preferred cities of luxury lovers: the windows of the numerous luxury stores along Bahnhofstrasse, the main downtown street in the city, are lit up like a theater for the public. According to many statistics, it is the most expensive street in Europe. Prices for the magnificent houses in this area start from at least two million euro. If you move to the west of Zurich, the scene changes. Zuri-west was once the industrial area of the city. At present, the neglected stores and abandoned factories have been transformed into nightclubs, museums, restaurants and condominiums. Examples include the Migros museum, a center that occupies an old beer factory with various art galleries. The district, named “Kreis 5”, is known for irreverent nights out and in the last year new luxury homes have appeared, with luxury apartments boasting views of the entire city. Moving toward the east, one can enjoy walks in the forests of Zürichberg, the beautiful hill that offers a wonderful view of the city and the lake below. The headquarters for FIFA and the Zurich zoo are found here. Furthermore, this is one of the preferred neighborhoods for big industries and magnates, that prefer spacious premium properties immersed in the tranquility of the hills.
