Born and raised in Connecticut, Jay moved to Utah in 1985 to attend the University of Utah. After graduation, Jay worked in restaurant management until finding his place in the mortgage lending industry in 1991. Jay has 19 successful years of financing experience with Norwest Mortgage, Wells Fargo and 10 years as Owner / Operator of Crescent Mortgage in Park City.
At Norwest, and Wells Fargo Jay was awarded the Top 1% Producer for each of his 19 consecutive years. In 2000 Jay opened Crescent Mortgage and operated that business as Managing Partner for ten years, all the while building a reputation as one of Park City’s most respected and trusted residential lenders.
Jay’s experience in lending was not limited to individual buyer transactions but also included development involvement including many FNMA and FHLMC approvals. During his time in the mortgage industry, Jay worked closely with condominium developments in Pinebrook, NewPark, Deer Valley, Solitude, and Sundance.
Working in residential mortgage loans, title, appraisal, insurance & HOA, Jay’s depth & breadth of knowledge serve both Buyers & Sellers in any real estate transaction. His empirical knowledge of the lending environment, past & present, is an invaluable asset to those clients with or without financing needs.
In 2010 Jay moved his expertise to real estate. Having been a long-time passion, the real estate industry was an obvious fit for Jay. Since arriving in Park City in 1992, Jay has personally bought and sold over 50 local properties, managed long and short-term rentals, built 12 luxury homes, and remodeled over 40 homes and condominiums. Having had a hand in nearly every phase of property ownership, management, and construction throughout his Park City tenure, Jay has the experience needed to assist in the transition into and out of property ownership in Park City. Professional Real Estate expertise aside, Jay’s experience in lending, finance, building, remodeling, and property management makes him an incredible local asset to each client and their individual property needs.
Outside of real estate, Jay is the father to three amazing daughters, a true Park City advocate, and a frequent volunteer to many local non-profit agencies, in particular The Children’s Justice Centers of Summit and Wasatch Counties and Mountain Trails Foundation. Jay spends the rest of his free time outdoors, enjoying the same things that draw so many to Park City. An avid (maybe obsessed) trail runner, mountain and road biker, Jay also enjoys hiking and flyfishing and all the local entertainment from the Egyptian Theater to over 400 Mountain Town Music events throughout the year.
