Description
Susan’s journey to real estate began long before her first closing. Originally from Saint Louis, she came to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University and, after graduation, launched her career with Criswell Development Company. Her path then took her to Philadelphia, where she worked with Rouse and Associates and later with the distinguished Foundation for Architecture, blending her skills in communications and project support with her growing interest in architecture and how cities work.
When she eventually returned to Dallas to raise her young family, Susan carried those experiences with her. Her professional life—spanning corporate communications and leadership in nonprofit organizations—was always about bringing people together and strengthening the communities she touched. That same impulse continues to guide her success in real estate today: connecting clients not just with houses, but with homes and neighborhoods that reflect who they are and how they want to live.
Susan has also invested deeply in Dallas’ cultural and civic life. She served for many years as Board President of the McKinney Avenue Contemporary and has held leadership roles with organizations including the Stewpot Alliance, the Lakewood Service League, the Lakewood Literary Guild, and the Culture League of Lakewood. A PTA Life Member and a founding member of the Dallas Architecture Forum, she has long championed education, the arts, and community engagement. She has also earned the designation of Historic House Specialist through Preservation Dallas, underscoring her expertise in some of the city’s most significant homes.
That combination of professional depth, leadership and grit is why buyers relocating to Dallas find such confidence in her counsel. She brings together market knowledge, clear communication, and steady guidance—qualities that turn what could be a stressful move into a smooth and reassuring process. Her dedication, honesty and warmth put her clients at ease from the first conversation to the day they get their keys and beyond. As Robbie Briggs, Founder of Briggs Freeman, has said: “The professionalism, hard work and kindness that has earned Susan the continued loyalty of her many clients and friends are the signature qualities of Sotheby's International Realty, making Susan the perfect fit with our respected firm.”
