He built his first home in Crystal Beach, an area he also began developing as a salesman for Crystal Beach Development. Cliff was "boots on the ground" in growing many of the communities that are popular with homeowners and visitors today, including Crystal Shores, Crystal Beach Cottages and Destiny, where he built his second home and lived until 2001.
As more commercial property was being traded, Cliff parted ways with Crystal Beach Development to continue working with residential listings at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, ultimately becoming its director of sales. Later, he would enjoy a career with the St. Joe Company, overseeing sales in WaterColor, WaterSound Beach, WaterSound West Beach, Origins and Wild Heron. He went on to become St. Joe's vice president of sales. It was in this capacity he met his now-business partner, Cindi Cobine, who oversaw the builder program.
After a few years passed, Cliff and Cindi teamed up again to engage in general real estate sales. They both have a "servant's heart," Cliff said, and place the same importance on striking a balance between work, having a family and enjoying life at the beach. The Cobine-Cohen team joined Scenic Sotheby's International Realty in January 2018. Cliff won the company's "Rookie of the Year" award in his first year. What he loves about real estate is finding out his clients' "why" and then helping them achieve it. "It is the most rewarding thing, when people express their gratitude about helping them achieve what they're trying to do," he said.
Cliff focuses his business on Destin, Sandestin and the St. Joe communities, where he has exceptional market knowledge. He works frequently with referral business, end users and rental investors at all price points. His problem-solving skills, reputation in the market, integrity and negotiating prowess are all predicated by his desire to always err on the side of his client.
Cliff is a past president of the Destin Rotary Club and a past chairman of the Destin Planning Commission. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with Kim, his wife of 22 years, and their son and daughter. You can find him on the golf course or enjoying the outdoors at Henderson Beach State Park.
