Ryan is also a huge advocate for giving back to the local community so that Central Oregon continues to be a special and unique place for everyone. Part of his community involvement includes managing the Boneyard Cycling Team which focuses not only on the many social aspects of cycling, but also on volunteerism throughout Central Oregon. In 2014 he also founded the Bend Bike Swap, a 100% volunteer run event that raises about $10,000 annually to support local nonprofits that promote different aspects of youth cycling.
Ryan and his wife Alanna enjoy spending time with their two young children, Wyatt (4 years) and Grace (2.5 years) you can find them out mountain biking, road cycling, trail running and during the winter skate and backcountry skiing.
