John lives in Litchfield, along with his wife and two sons, and has a small farm where he raises an assortment of livestock including chickens, pigs and beef cattle, as well as tending to a substantial garden. This experience is particularly rewarding because as he has watched his sons grow up he has been able to watch them understand and love the farm-to-table process. John and his family are very active participants and supporters of the Litchfield County 4-H. John also volunteers with other organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America and the Lions Club of Litchfield. While John is very proud to be a farmer of sorts he also maintains a second home in Manhattan which keeps him in touch with what is going on in mainstream America.
