Meet with your agent for a one-on-one buyers' or sellers' counseling session before you list or head out to find a new home. Look for an agent whose communication style and personality best compliments yours. Do you text...or do you prefer email and/or phone calls? Are you a "strictly business" type of person, or, are you more comfortable with a more personal, down-to-earth approach? Find an agent who is experienced and knowledgeable about current market trends, the inventory, and the features of the towns you are interested in exploring (schools, shopping, dining, etc.) Find an agent who works with a team of professionals, such as those you may need throughout the transaction, i.e., attorneys, inspectors, mortgage professionals, handymen/women, contractors, roofers, septic/well companies, etc. Find an agent whose company boats exceptional, eye-catching, and far-reach marketing collateral.
