Heather Platt | Sotheby's International Realty - Greenwich Brokerage

Agency Sotheby's International Realty - Greenwich Brokerage

Description

Heather has been working in Greenwich Real Estate since 1983. She arrived as a visitor and was the guest who never left town. Her real estate experience started with writing ad copy for a multi-office local firm. Shortly after, she became a licensed real estate agent and has been selling ever since. Over the years she has worked for large chains, regional firms and a small office of twelve agents. She obtained her real estate broker’s license in 2009. Heather grew up in Lloyd Harbor, NY just seven miles across Long Island Sound from Greenwich. She enjoyed childhood summers sailing to Greenwich and Old Greenwich to visit cousins and family friends. She attended the Eastwoods School in Oyster Bay, the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, and has a degree in studio art from Connecticut College. Before real estate, her work experience was largely entrepreneurial. She ran several small businesses, worked in the stock market and put her art skills to use in graphics agencies and design firms. Real estate allows her to utilize all her talents. Her outside pleasures contribute to her business. Heather has built houses and renovated antiques, and appreciates the strengths of both old and new construction. Her involvement in sports (particularly water-centric sports) and the arts inspire her to sell the town based on the wide array of activities one can participate in these areas. She works very hard almost every day of the year, but occasionally breaks to enhance her gardens, and to tour her dogs around the town’s beautiful neighborhoods. Heather and her husband, Tom Gorin, joined the Greenwich office of Sothebys International Realty in December 2011. Prior to their move, Heather and Tom owned the venerable independent firm, Cleveland, Duble & Arnold Corp. founded in 1909. Tom had managed he company for 37 years. Sothebys International Realty acquired the firm for its high sales volume and experienced agents. Their reputation as a strong local office with an appreciation for the distinctive town and its assets, along with its history made them a valuable addition to the firm. The incredible power of the corporate brand, combined with the dynamic local office at Sothebys International Realty has been extremely positive for Heather. Always one of the top salespeople in Greenwich, with sales volume rising each year, she now spends more time with her clients and less on management. This has been a remarkable and welcome change for her. Heather lists and sells properties in all price ranges and in all parts of town, and in a normal year with complete anywhere from 20 to 30 transactions. She works on all her listings with a carefully selected team of one or two additional agents, ensuring that her clients get the proper attention they need at all times. One of the best aspects she appreciates about the real estate business is that no day is ever the same. She especially likes meeting people who are new to Greenwich and need to be educated about the unique attributes the town has to offer. Having been a newcomer over 40 years ago, she never tires of sharing how easy it is to move here and become a part of this wonderful community.
