A native of the Beach Cities, John Witherspoon was interested in real estate from a young age. He started working in the industry in 1980 and soon knew it was what he wanted to do as a full-time career. Prior to real estate, John worked in restaurant management. A surfer since 1960, he also worked for a surfboard business. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their two sons, Jack and Josh. What would you like potential clients to know about you? "That they are working with an experienced agent who was born and grew up here in the Beach Cities and has sold hundreds and hundreds of homes here." In which area of real estate do you specialize? "Mostly residential, but I do some local commercial properties too." What does it take to be the best in the business? "Constantly staying on top of the changing market. Knowing, by experience, what to recommend to your clients, as they are depending on you for your knowledge of the market and their transaction." How do you give back to your community? "I like being involved in the things my kids do, like coaching Little League and helping the other kids too." What do your clients love about living in the South Bay? "Probably the same as I: The Beach! It's a lifestyle like no other. Once you have spent time here, you can't leave!"
