Arriving in Steamboat Springs in 1976 between school years, Roy was compelled by the beauty and the friendship of the community. Growing up in up-state New York, competitive skiing brought Roy together with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. His skiing career evolved to coaching the young future Olympians and then becoming Executive Director of the organization for thirteen years. Roy remains active in the community affairs. He has served on the Board of Directors of the North Routt Community Charter School and continues to give his time to the next generation of young ski racers as a Technical Delegate to the International Ski Federation (FIS). He has degrees in Humanities, Ski Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Being passionate about real estate in Colorado, and especially Steamboat Springs, is a privilege and a responsibility for Roy. He has worked as both a real estate broker and appraiser, which gives him a unique perspective on valuation as it relates to the current market. Most importantly he believes that real estate is about people's needs.
