She has served as a board member of the Houston Area Women's Center, a United Way agency which assists abused women with counseling and shelter, and as a board member and president of Fotofest, a biennial international symposium and exhibition of photography. She is currently a board member of M.D. Anderson's Proton Therapy Center.
