She graduated from the University of Tennessee and eventually moved to Atlanta, where she lived for 25 years. After having three children in 33 months, she began looking for a career that offered her the flexibility her family needed. In 2003, she earned her real estate license and she and her husband bought their first home on 30A during a weekend visit to a friend’s home. Eight years later, they moved to the Emerald Coast full-time with nine bikes, three kids and a dog named "Buddy."
Janet focuses her business on the east end of 30A, but helps "Move Families To The Beach" from Destin to Panama City Beach. Ninety percent of her business is personal referrals from people she says “know me, love me and trust me.” She said she is dependable and thorough; asks the important questions; and, is able to connect her clients to local resources and amenities thanks to the personal network she has cultivated over the years. In 2020, she moved her business to Scenic Sotheby's International Realty, closing more than $30 million in sales the same year. For her efforts, she was given "The Extraordinary Award," and was also nominated by her peers for the "Pat Carlyle Humanitarian Award" and to serve on the brokerage's Leadership Council.
In her free time, Janet and her husband, Kevin, who’s from Scotland, like to travel and consider themselves foodies. They spend time walking on the beach and riding bikes, and she enjoys entertaining others, hosting Thanksgiving for up to 60 people every year. She also gardens, cooks and likes caring for her own home. Janet currently volunteers with senior citizens and serves on the board of directors for Westonwood Ranch. Over the years on 30A, she has given her time to St. Rita's Catholic Church, Seaside Neighborhood Schools and Special Olympics Walton County. She is the president of the Whiskey Project, a group she started to support her husband's passion.
