As a sales associate with Premier Sotheby's International Realty, Van Parker believes his customers are entitled to excellent service and complete satisfaction. A professional REALTOR® since 2011, it was his own many buying and selling experiences that led him to want to assist others in their property searches.
Originally from Greenwich, Connecticut, Van began his realty career working as a senior risk officer for Xerox Credit, overseeing the company's portfolio of real estate properties and commercial finance investments, which included single-family residential housing projects and condominiums. During his time there, he was honored with the prestigious President's Award for his work with the company's real estate portfolio, one of just a handful of employees at Xerox to receive the distinction.
After an early retirement, he obtained his REALTOR® license in his home state and practiced in the Fairfield County area before relocating to Virginia. Once there, Van trained and worked as a mediator for the Virginia Supreme Court system, frequently working cases involving real estate ownership disputes. Upon relocating to Venice, where he'd vacationed for many years, Van obtained a Florida real estate license, enabling him to continue assisting others looking to buy or sell a home. A member of, director and treasurer to the Venice Area Board of REALTORS®, he participates on the finance and mediation committees. Van also serves as a board member and president of the Clubside Condominium Association within the Plantation Golf and Resort community.
Van holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and a master's in business administration from Columbia University. He enjoys conversational French and in his leisure time, he practices landscape photography, gardening and reviewing post-modernism art shows. Van also lends his free time to assisting various medical research and social service charities involving children's health and juvenile and domestic relations.
In May 2019, Van had the honor of delivering a United States flag, previously flown over the U.S. Capitol, to Colgate University's president in honor of the college's 200th anniversary. Conducted under the direction of the senate, this was a rare event for an academic institution, and Van was thrilled to be selected.
A resident of Florida's Sun Coast, Van knows first-hand how many choices the area holds for a variety of lifestyles.
