Carol graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University with a degree in journalism, an emphasis in advertising as well as a minor in marketing. She went on to complete coursework for a master's in mass communication and, in 2015, earned her M.B.A. in finance from the University of South Carolina to round out her background. Before selling real estate, Carol ran media sales teams across the country for companies like Cox Communications and McClatchy.
