For over 12 years, Barbara King has been serving real estate customers in the Venice area. She chose to come to Venice with her husband, Frank, almost 18 years ago after taking an early retirement from her position as executive director with Verizon Information Services. Having relocated multiple times to nine states during her career with Verizon, she's relished the opportunity to become a part of the Venice community. As a trusted sales associate with Premier Sotheby's International Realty, Barbara puts her extensive sales and business experience to work as she helps her customers make their real estate dreams come true.
Barbara grew up in Columbus, Georgia. Her husband's job took them north and they eventually settled in Illinois, where they raised their two daughters. It was then Barbara's career with Verizon that took them on their next adventure, moving around the eastern part of the United States for several years while their daughters, now grown, stayed in Illinois, and started families of their own.
Enjoying this chapter of their lives, Barbara and Frank spend their leisure time boating, entertaining friends and neighbors, and indulging in Venice's wonderful local shops and restaurants. She enjoys visiting their six grandchildren in Illinois, but especially cherishes their visits to Venice and helping them hunt for shark teeth along the beach. An active member of the Venice community, Barbara has strong ties with many local organizations. She is a member of Venice First Baptist Church and has been a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast for over 12 years. Previously, she served on the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce Education Committee as well as on the executive board of the United Way of South Sarasota County.
