Raised in a family of real estate professionals, Merrie Louise has real estate in her blood. Her mother managed the real estate office on Gibson Island for over three decades and was consistently a top agent in Anne Arundel County. Her father built and sold new construction homes with his own company, Harbor Homes, all over Maryland. Growing up in and around Annapolis has given Merrie Louise an abundance of local knowledge and insight. Her family built one of the first houses in The Downs community and she and her brothers all went to Severn School. They lived in the Downs for many years before moving to Gibson Island where her family has been based ever since. Merrie Louise brings lots of diverse and interesting experience to her clients and business. She has a BA in Interior Design from Mount Vernon College. She also graduated from cooking school at the prestigious École de Cuisine de La Varenne in Paris and worked professionally as a chef. She was the sales manager for a new, single-family homes community and sold and closed all of the 81 homes over the course of three months. Her keen eye made her an incredible asset while working professionally in interior design and that has been invaluable to both her buyers and sellers. Merrie Louise also worked for The International Wine Cellar, a wine-reviewing publication, coordinating membership, fact-checking and delivery of the bi-monthly journal to subscribers in over 50 countries. Her intriguing journey through cooking, wine, and interior design, as well as her hobbies of cycling, running, and tennis, has provided her with a deep understanding of many of life’s finer things. She is equipped with the knowledge and skills to assist, relate to, and exceed her clients’ expectations.
