After a varied and fast-paced career in the business world before real estate, with senior roles creating an award-winning real estate agency Patrick McAteer has joined New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty (NZSIR), where his appreciation for quality meets his work ethic. Patrick’s professional life includes coming up through the ranks of sales and marketing roles, MD of an advertising agency, GM of a music TV channel, CEO of a film company, and even a heli-biking guide. “Running organisations where shareholders need assurance or my own enterprises, I needed to back myself building businesses, building teams and building community. It just takes energy, enthusiasm and a bit of bravery” With skills to bear in real estate, his core focus is on the people behind the property. “Everybody takes time to talk about the property but I’m all about acting on property. There can be a lot of emotion wrapped up in someone’s labour of love, family home or estate so I’m here to represent, set the scene and attract attention” Originally from Fairlie in the South Island, Patrick has lived in the Ponsonby area for 24 years and calls himself a St Marys Bay local where his network of friends, acquaintances and colleagues is extensive. He knows what it means to live here and what it takes to sell here and he’s right at home with the NZSIR team. He gives back by coaching sports and volunteering for Auckland Coastguard. Patrick is married and has two teenagers and enjoys relaxing with his family by going skiing, surfing and always starting every day walking the waterfront with his Border Collie ‘Fergie’.
