Description

Nell Winslow brings a native New Yorker’s knowledge and passion for the city to her career in real estate. Since 2010, when she joined her mother and veteran broker JoAnne Kennedy in real estate, Nell has endeavored to bring her own calm, no-nonsense, and hardworking demeanor to every transaction. In the nearly 13 years they have worked together, Nell and JoAnne have successfully sold over 100 properties across the city.

Nell believes preparing a property for the market with proper pricing, smart staging, and correct timing, are essential ingredients for a successful launch. With a strong sense of design and a great feel for space, Nell takes great joy highlighting a home’s best features. She is always willing to jump in with a hands-on approach by helping clients de-clutter, organize, rearrange, and stage. Nell strives to always be available to her clients and help them in any way she can to make for a smooth transaction.

Whether she’s working with buyers or sellers, Nell takes care to walk her clients through every stage of the process with a clear and thoughtful manner. If it’s fine tuning the placement of furniture and props for photography, putting together a board package, or writing copy that best embodies an apartment, she always has a detail-oriented focus. When working with buyers, Nell’s goal is to listen to the client and hone in on what properties best suit their needs and tastes and filter out all the rest.

Prior to real estate, Nell worked at The Cloisters, where she worked alongside a small but dedicated staff and learned the value of collaboration, resourcefulness, and creativity, skills that benefit her real estate clients. Working with the public where she interacted with new customers every day was terrific preparation for her transition to real estate. Nell received a BA in art history from Colorado College and an MA in the history of decorative arts and design from the Bard Graduate Center, both of which have been indispensable to such a visual and spatial-oriented business.

While her current home base is in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, Nell grew up on the Upper West Side, attended school on the Upper East Side, and previously lived in Washington Heights. Growing up with a parent in the business, Nell was exposed to real estate at an early age and often tagged along at showings and studied floorplans that her mother brought home. Nell loves the ever-changing and varied nature of New York and one her favorite things is exploring neighborhoods and discovering the city’s hidden gems. Apart from real estate, Nell spends her time running, cooking and baking, and hanging out at her house in the Hudson Valley with her husband, Andrew, and dog, Polly.
