Description

Laurie Schiffelbein was born and raised on the south shore of New York's Long Island. After joining the U. S. Coast Guard she chose a duty station in Ketchikan, Alaska, where she met and married fellow "Coastie" Randy. They moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico (where their son, Randy, jr., was born); West Hampton Beach, NY (where their daughter, Sarah, was born); Honolulu, Hawaii; Keokuk, Iowa; and Cape May, NJ. Along the way Laurie received Associate Degrees from Suffolk County Community College (Liberal Studies) and Atlantic Cape Community College (Studio Art)."I have loved every move and looked forward each time to making a new home for my family. We have lived in nine completely different settings and the challenge of transforming even the drabbest military quarters into a lovely home has been fun and exciting." After spending years living in some of the countries most beautiful settings, first as an active duty Coast Guardsman, later as a military spouse it was the Cape May area that they fell in love with and chose as their final home. "I look so forward to my new career of helping others find their dream home."
Laurie is an active member of the Jersey Cape Military Spouses Association; Cape May Lutheran Church; board member of the Cape May County Art League. She also teaches adult art classes in various locations including the CMC Library and the Avalon Free Public Library.
