Don Johnston Sutton began his real estate career over 20 years ago, working with Peter Maurice in Beverly Hills. Together, in 2012, they moved brokerages and joined one of the most successful teams on the westside of Los Angeles, giving Don a wealth of expertise in both robust and challenging markets. Since 2012, the Maurice/Rustad Team was the number one team at their prior firm with over $2.2 billion in sales and 1,800 transactions. In additional to residential real estate, Don has over a decade of experience in the luxury hotel and property development industry, giving him a keen eye for quality. He gained insights from working with a range of discerning clients including celebrities, producers, and directors, as well as many high-net-worth individuals. Confident, driven, focused, positive, assertive, and strategic are all words used to describe Don by clients and colleagues alike. But most importantly, the attribute used to describe him is kindness, as he has a caring attitude towards all who he interacts with. Don has lived with his husband, Simon, and their four pups in Montecito for over 10 years. The decision to join Sotheby’s International Realty was made easy by persuasion from long-time mentor and friend, Gregg Lynn of Sotheby’s International Realty - San Francisco Brokerage.
