Dallas is more than Angela’s home, it’s her heritage. Her children are 5th-generation Dallasites and 7th-generation Texans. Angela’s deep Texas history began with the birth of her paternal great-great grandfather born in Titus, Texas in 1842 while Texas was still a Republic. Her maternal family has been in Dallas for many generations as well. Her great-grandfather owned H.H. Price and Son Produce in a building near The Farmer’s Market that still bears his name. One of her great-grandfathers was part of the electrical team that placed the original Pegasus on top of the Magnolia Building. Her maternal grandmother grew up on Junius in the Swiss Avenue Historical District in a home that has fortunately been lovingly restored. Angela’s grandmothers Betty Price and Jo Hand graduated from the old Forest Ave High School. Her Hefner family built the first home on San Carlos in University Park that still graces the street today. When all areas north were just pasture, that same family thought there ought to be a Baptist church in the Park Cities. They held the first meeting to envision Park Cities Baptist Church in a quaint parlor in that very San Carlos home. Angela’s grandfather Charlie Hefner attended Bradfield Elementary and graduated from Highland Park High School the first year that classes were held in the current campus. His name still graces the walls honoring students who served in the military for our great nation during times of war and conflict. Angela’s childhood home was in the Sparkman area of West Dallas. Afterward, like many others in Dallas, her family headed North where they enjoyed many years in the beautiful Bent Tree neighborhood. As an adult, Angela raised her family in University Park and had extended family in Preston Hollow and Lakewood. Both of those neighborhoods have rich histories ingrained in her past.
