Tessa grew up on her family’s generational farm in small-town Alberta. After graduating, she moved to Toronto and then back to Edmonton. In 2007, she relocated to Calgary, a city where she always wanted to be and where she still resides.
When she completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta, Tessa moved to Calgary, starting her career at Safeway Canada's corporate headquarters, where she advanced through leadership roles, from pricing analyst to development and category manager. This work experience gave her the ability to understand trends and optimize pricing in both aggressive and passive markets.
As a second-generation realtor, Tessa's entrepreneurial background encompasses a wide range of companies including a founding partner of the Calgary-based real estate advertising agency: Blair & Co. Her diverse and specialized work experience with the agency has provided Tessa with a strategic marketing skillset that is passed along to her clients, whether they are buying or selling a home. Tessa has also worked at her husband’s sales and leasing company, Salesmatic Inc., where she managed lead systems, trained sales agents, and assisted teams in leasing or selling new real estate developments, from high-rise apartment leasing to luxury property sales.
As a self-confessed real estate junkie, Tessa loves real estate. Having owned various properties, from inner city condos to suburban homes, she has a winning track record in investing and managing her multi-city real estate portfolio.
As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Tessa spends her time at the lake with her two children, whether kayaking and paddleboarding in the summer and skating and tobogganing in the winter. Always up for an adventure, and when not at the rink, Tessa spends her time playing softball, ball hockey, snowboarding, cross-country skiing or camping with her family. Like most hockey moms, she is always willing to step up, whether it be coaching, managing or running fundraising for the team.
Her decision to join the Sotheby's team was as natural of fit with Tessa's passion to help buyers through the journey to find their ideal lifestyle community while ensuring sellers maximize the value of their sale.
