Broker Associate Inga Laughlin Smith brings an impressive background in international business to her real estate practice. Inga was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has been a resident of Houston since 1989. After graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, she moved to Houston to pursue a career in banking. For 10 years, Inga worked in international banking for “Fortune 100” oil and gas clientele handling transactions on both the marketing and credit sides of the business. She applies numerous transferable skills to her real estate practice; specifically, strong negotiation, marketing, contract and documentation skills.
Inga began her real estate career with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty in 2008. She serves clients primarily in the Memorial area, and other traditional neighborhoods in Houston.
Inga has earned her Master Certified Negotiation designation (MCNE) and firmly believes it is important for her clients to know that she continuously expands her knowledge base. “I feel very strongly about staying current on trends in the industry and keeping myself abreast of the ever-changing market.”
A member of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty’s Circle of Excellence and Hall of Fame, Inga attributes her success to being positive, outgoing and a “hands-on” Realtor. “I love working with people, and I’m a good listener. I always have my client’s best interest at heart. Buying or selling a home is one of the largest financial decisions most people will make, and I am there to walk with them through the process. I am always appreciative and humbled by the number of referrals I receive from existing clients, and repeat business is my greatest compliment.”
Inga, and her husband, Steve, are empty-nesters. All three of their sons are graduates of Memorial High School (MHS). During the time their boys were at MHS, Inga and Steve were very active volunteers especially in the school's football and lacrosse programs. Their oldest son is a 2021 graduate of Texas A&M where he played on the lacrosse team. Their middle son is a 2023 graduate of The University of Oklahoma (OU), and their youngest son is currently a Junior at OU. When time permits, the whole family enjoys a quick trip to Norman, OK to watch some Sooner football.
