Chamonix-Mont-Blanc sits at the top of the Alpine property market, and its apartment sector draws buyers from every corner of the world. Where to buy an apartment in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Chamonix centre is the address buyers name first, and the reason is obvious: walk to the lifts, walk to the restaurants, walk to the train that connects the valley to Geneva in under two hours. Apartments here sit inside traditional chalets and compact residential buildings, typically with wooden balconies, ski storage and mountain views. The price is the highest in the valley. That gap exists for a reason. Argentière, further north along the valley floor, offers larger apartments at a more accessible price point and direct access to the Grand Montets ski area, one of the most technically demanding in France. It draws a more serious skiing crowd and has a quieter, more local feel. Les Houches anchors the southern end of the valley, with newer residential buildings, family-sized apartments and proximity to the Kandahar piste.
