Description

I’m a transplanted third-generation Texan and have adored living in beautiful Maine for forty years. I grew up in Houston and have found the happiest combination in Maine of being able to be outdoors for much of the year, either walking or hiking the trails on Mount Desert Island, on our boat cruising, or in my garden (my happy place) and snuggling in for the colder months to put together jigsaw puzzles, knit, sew and read. I’m also an enthusiastic cook and winter gives me an opportunity to entertain friends and try out new recipes for them.

Real estate has been a part of my life since I lived in Texas. There are so many parts of the business that are inspiring, challenging, satisfying and just plain fun. One of the best benefits is developing new relationships with people, connecting them with properties, and sharing the joy of seeing the transaction through to completion and having them as forever friends. Another facet of the business that I love is being able to use my design background to help clients imagine a redesigned space in a house.

I have always been active in volunteer work in Texas and in Maine. I’ve been involved with the Maine Association of Realtors® in leadership positions over the past 20 years as past president and secretary of the Acadia Council of Realtors®, past board member of the Maine Association of Realtors® and the Mid Coast Board of Realtors®; past trustee of MARPAC (Maine Association of Realtors® Political Action Committee); past member of the Legislative Committee of the Maine Association of Realtors®, former vestry member of St. Mary and St. Jude Episcopal Church; former trustee of the Mount Desert Island Historical Society and the Westside Food Pantry. I continue to serve as a volunteer for Island Connections, an organization that provides free transportation for the seniors to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, adult daycare, or other needed appointments.

I was honored to be chosen as the Acadia Council of Realtors® “Realtor of the Year” in 2007 and 2012 and the Maine Association of Realtors “Realtor® of the Year” for the State of Maine in 2012. I also hold the professional designations of ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative, CRS (Certified Residential Specialist and GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute).

For many years I worked in the non-profit world as a fundraiser and public relations professional. After living in Maine for nearly forty years, I have a deep knowledge of my market area, I pay attention to the details, communicate well with my buyers and sellers and provide exceptional service to them. I love what I do and always look forward to my next real estate adventure!

My husband, Tom, and I live in Southwest Harbor and enjoy traveling, boating, gardening, fishing, golfing, and spending time with our ten grandchildren.

Client Testimonials

“We had a very good experience with Carroll in selling our house. She is a seasoned agent and we needed one! She knows her stuff and we needed someone we could rely on to take us through the selling process. Our property had been waiting for the right buyer to come along and she found that buyer very quickly once we engaged her; and we got our asking price.”

"It was a given that when we were finally able to make the move “back home” after almost 40 years away from Maine, that it would be Carroll who would lead us on our journey. We knew she would have our best interests front and center, which proved to be the case time and again. But as importantly – and maybe even more as our search coincided with a global pandemic and subsequent frenzy in the local real estate market – she was tireless in making sure we were “in the game,” even from 500 miles away. Carroll’s depth of knowledge, commitment to detail and cheerleader extraordinaire persona brought us back to our much-loved coast, where we are beyond thrilled to have her and her family as neighbors."
