Almancil has a cultural heritage where the Church of Sao Lourenco stands out, with special emphasis on the interior covering of the entire church with tiles dating from 1730 and signed by Policarpo de Oliveira Bernardes (an important element of the cycle of the Portuguese tile masters) illustrating several episodes of the life of St. Lawrence. Also noteworthy is the Ermida de Sao Joao da Venda, a temple of late-medieval origin rebuilt in successive periods, the last of which in the 19th century, when the main facade was redone.
The natural landscape of the parish of Almancil cannot be neglected either - the western part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a site of high botanical value and natural habitat for rare ornithological species, is located here.
The coastal area, with about 12 km, where the famous beaches of Ancao, Quinta do lago, Garrao and Vale do Lobo are located, is also one of the attractions of this parish.
Currently, several internationally renowned tourist developments are located here and some of its golf courses are considered among the best in the world.
