Abrunheira designates a village in the parish of Sao Pedro de Penaferrim, municipality of Sintra (Portugal) adjacent to the places of Linho and Beloura. The village, which dates back to at least the eighteenth century, while today quite uncharacterized by the implantation of industrial structures, retains curious traces such as a fountain dating from 1781, reign of D. Maria I, and a lime oven, of the various that existed in the area.
Abrunheira was, in 1747, a village in the parish of Sao Pedro de Penaferrim, the term of the village of Sintra. In the secular was subordinate dearly to the District of Alenquer, and to the ecclesiastical to the Patriarchate of Lisbon, belonging to the Province of Extremadura. It had, at the time, seven residents.'
