The property is located in Castiglione d' Orcia in the province of Siena, this is a small village nestled in the landscape of the Val d'Orcia.
Situated on a hill on the northern slope of Mount Amiata, it includes the medieval towns of Rocca d'Orcia, Campiglia d'Orcia, Vivo d'Orcia and Ripa d'Orcia as well as the spa town of Bagni San Filippo.
The medieval village is characterized by small, steep alleys. it has a 17th-century square and the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Maddalena.
Castiglione d'Orcia still has the image it had in the Middle Ages, especially the center of the Borgo and the walls that surrounded it.
All that remains of the original is an arched stone gate, the only one of the four ancient gates that still existed in the 18th century.
