Beyond his professional accomplishments, Patrick is a deeply rooted member of the Naples community, known for his philanthropic leadership and civic contributions. In 2016, he was named Collier Citizen of the Year by the Naples Daily News, and in 2024, the mayor of Naples declared February 7 as Patrick O'Connor Day, honoring his outstanding service to the community. His enduring commitment to giving back is evident in his work as co-founder and chair of Do the Right Thing, a program celebrating positive student behavior across Naples schools. The initiative has recognized over 250 young people for their outstanding deeds since its inception in 2012.



Patrick is also an advocate for veterans, first responders and military families, serving as president of the Collier County 100 Club and volunteering with Collier County Honor Flights, where he has accompanied 17 flights as a guardian. A graduate and former chair of Leadership Collier, he has also served on the Naples YMCA Board, the Leadership Institute and led Santa's Workshop since 1994.
