Estepona has transformed over the past decade: the old town is genuinely charming now, and the coastal urbanizations attract northern European families looking for a permanent home rather than a holiday retreat. Mijas Pueblo sits above Fuengirola with views stretching to Africa on clear days, and the houses there have character that newer developments simply cannot replicate. Ma it is the stretch between Casares and Sotogrande, close to Gibraltar, that offers the best value right now for buyers who are not in a rush but know what they want.
