ZAMOYSKI PALACE FOR SALE
HISTORY OF THE PALACE
The Palace in Jabłoń was designed by architects Fellner and Helmer in their Viennese atelier and was built in 1904-1905 by the Earl Tomasz Zamoyski. Later on it was inherited by his son, August Zamoyski, an infamous Polish sculptor, whose first works were developed in Jabłoń. The Palace in Jabłoń is the finest example of English Gothic Revival architecture in Poland.
ARCHITECTURE
Upon arrival to the Palace one is welcomed by the historic gate and guardhouse. Thereupon one notices beautiful grounds surrounding the mansion: over 30 hectares of parks and meadows. All the copper elements including the roof along with the building’s exterior have been renovated in the last few years. Although the antique interiors suffered many damages during WWII, they have been restored by the current owners. Without a doubt the moldings, the oak woodwork and paneling, the ornamental portals and many other monumental elements are worth of notice. The hall with its sumptuous staircase and king-size gorgeous marble fireplace leaves everyone breathless. One can also find the wonderful orangery with stucco ornaments in the Palace. This was where August Zamoyski used to work on his sculptures. Behind the orangery, there is a gallery linking the Palace to the XIX century annex, where Zamoyski’s private chapel is situated. All the stained glass elements of the chapel have been restored according to the original design.
