Pat is a Broker Associate with Herlong Sotheby’s International Realty. How did Pat become one of the leading land brokers in the Upstate? A Greenville native, Pat McNamara spent his childhood roaming the Piedmont and the foothills of the Upstate. From the Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee area, to Gray Court and Fountain Inn, to Tigerville and Travelers Rest, Pat knew the Upstate was home and it was here wanted to live and raise a family. This led him into real estate, a career he started in a few years after graduating from Clemson University in 1982. In 1996, he founded The McNamara Company, which provided commercial and industrial real estate services in the Upstate and North Carolina mountains. He was active in retail, office, industrial, and development properties before focusing his practice on land brokerage.

In 2002, Pat explored a new business pursuit: co-owning Carolina Land Company. He has spent 19 years in this position, and helped represent buyers and sellers of tracts of land for investment, farms and farming, home sites, recreation, hunting, timber and development. He has a true passion for residential land, farm land, timber land, recreation land, hunting land, mini-estates, mini farms, home sites, mountain view land, waterfront land and investment land. He has sold tracts from one to 1,000 acres and focuses on the “edge of growth and out.”

In the community, Pat has been involved with several professional and civic organizations including the American Diabetes Association (former Greenville Leadership Council Chair), the S.C. Chapter of Realtors’ Land Institute (former president), National Association of Realtors, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (former board member). He is married to the former Beth Phillips and is the proud father of three girls and one boy and three grandsons.
