Cabanas is a small village belonging to the parish of Quinta do Anjo and the municipality of Palmela. A quiet village on the edge of Arrabida, located between Azeitao and Palmela in an area full of history and tradition.
Located in an area with several industries such as Coca-Cola, which is located right in Cabanas, to AutoEuropa a few kilometres away, there are already many, from the smallest and most family-owned to medium and large companies that are present in this area.

In Cabanas we can find the Chapel of Sao Goncalo, a sixteenth-century pilgrimage temple, with an octagonal plan and hypostyle porch, of the same kind there are only two more in the country, one in Tomar and the other in Janas (Sintra). The Chapel of Sao Goncalo was built by the Marquises of Minas, former owners of Quinta da Torre and has been classified as a Property of Municipal Interest by the DGEMN since 2002.
In the picnic park of Cabanas, next to the Chapel of Sao Goncalo, the already famous Festivities of Our Lady of the Ascension are held every year in honour of Sao Goncalo (Patron of the village). The festivities begin on Ascension Thursday (Ear Day) and end on the following Sunday. This day is said in the chapel and a procession begins in the church of Cabanas and ends precisely in the chapel of Sao Goncalo.
It is also in Cabanas that another no less famous Fair is held, the Cheese, Bread and Wine Fair, an initiative of the Regional Association of Dairy Sheep Breeders of Serra da Arrabida, with the support of the Municipality of Palmela. A showcase of the best that is produced in the region.
