Known as MIJI House, this most imaginative and creative home was designed by architect Chris Lynch of award-winning MAD Architecture, Petaluma. An American Institute of Architect's Custom Residential Design Award winner in 2016; the style is totally unique but modern with an artistic use of structural steel, a strong sense of place, climate, reclaimed materials, and an unpretentious air of sustainability. The home is composed of several elements — main living space composed of great room, master bedroom and tower office; an art studio with hot tub and retractable garage door for view; a guest apartment with bedroom and built-in bunkbeds; and a separate bedroom; a grand view deck that opens to the great room, and so much more. The dramatic 180 degree hilltop view includes the entire Petaluma Valley, with a backdrop that ranges from Mount Diablo to Mount St. Helena. All that, and still a short stroll to downtown Petaluma's wide range of restaurants and the theater district.
