This majestic and beautiful HUNTING CASTLE is located slightly elevated, in a splendid panoramic position, at the entrance to San Candido in Alta Pusteria and enchants with a unique view of the valley and the surrounding mountains of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. In the immediate vicinity are the most famous ski areas, the famous Lake Braies and the landmark of the Dolomites in Alta Pusteria and UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Three Peaks. Originally this castle was built by the German writer Georg Freiherr Von Ompteda as "VILLA OMPTEDA". The Villa Ompteda was then, in 1910, converted by the new owner into a hunting castle. The castle has a living area of approximately 1,800 m². The complex includes several outbuildings, including a house for servants, a stable for horses with boxes and a polo field. The luxurious property is surrounded by approximately 3.6 hectares of land. The castle has a total of 20 bedrooms, including several magnificent suites, 15 bathrooms, a tennis court, sauna, gym, 8 garage spaces. The privately owned hunting lodge is currently rented out as a chalet and can be used as a private residence or converted into a hotel.
