Description
We propose the sale of a building from the early 1900s to be restored, located in the territory of Avola. The proposal includes a large plot of agricultural land, about 37,000 m, on which there is a large country house to be restored. The building is in fair condition, however it needs renovation. Internally it develops on two levels above ground for a total area of 330 m. The interior space is well distributed between large rooms on the ground floor and spacious bedrooms on the upper floor. The rooms, spacious and bright, have ceilings of considerable height that allow the creation of a mezzanine. The roofs, to be partially overhauled, are the original ones in reeds and plaster with overhanging tiled roofs. The flooring, in simple terracotta, dates back to the construction date of the building. The highly versatile property lends itself to multiple uses, from hospitality, to catering, to private residences. The land is equipped with electricity and water, the location is excellent as it is a short distance from the highway entrance, from markets and various services. A curiosity: The district that hosts this property was the seat of the first urban settlement of the city of Avola. After the destructive earthquake that occurred in 1693, the surviving citizens rebuilt the first makeshift, modest and rudimentary houses, the paghialore, using the straw present on the spot, hence the name of Chiusa delle Paglie.
