Description
The Herdade do Monte da Rocha with an area of 348 hectares, is located in the municipality of Fundao in the middle of Beira Interior.
The property is flat, in its centre, and 3/5 of its area, presents a morphology with remarkable slopes, consisting of American oak forest, wild cherry tree, olive trees, maritime pine, bush and rocky outcrops. However, the flatter areas can be used for some irrigated crops and grazing. It has excellent sun exposure and excellent wind catchment on the ridges that surround the whole property.
We must point out the important house, with an area of more than 750 m2, situated in the flatter area, with three houses built in granite, complemented with the respective annexes. The houses and annexes may be used as support houses for agricultural, forestry and hunting activities, and also, optionally, for tourism.
Very close to the houses, there is a large waterhole, fed by a spring, which can be used as an irrigation system.
It is worth noting the various spring points scattered around the property. All the rainwater converges on the centre of the land (due to the shell-shaped topography). For this reason, the existing dam at the foot of the land is fed by the waters coming from the property.
The forestry part generates periodical income of some significance. But, the property, being more utilized and explored, it will naturally give other type of incomes, namely in the agricultural exploration, wind and solar energy, for which it is perfectly suitable.
