Description

The Castle of Monte Frondoso is an ancient village from the 1000s completely fenced immersed in a centuries-old park of 8 hectares ideal for walks and physical activities, small squares, church, Italian garden, shared swimming pool. A unique residence, an ideal choice for experiencing nature, history, art and in the immediate vicinity of the splendid Borgo di Salomeo. The property in the announcement is the characteristic tower of the castle that dominates the entire village and is composed as follows: entrance, large living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, three bathrooms, two terraces with a unique panorama that dominates the entire valley, the property includes a double garage and three exclusive parking spaces. The stupendous renovation of the castle which dates back to the early 1000s has merited the publication of a book. Historical Notes: Around the 10th and 11th centuries, that process began, which led to the fortification, or the transformation of scattered settlements into organized and compact places, in order to operate control over the farmers and the surrounding area. It was above all prominent figures such as lords or bishops who reorganized the territory and controlled the new community. Monte Frondoso, chosen as the new castle for its strategic position and control over the surrounding territory, became "the fortress" of Monte Frondoso, to which a form of lordship was also added over the centuries: we can be sure of this by analyzing some subjects of the Perugian aristocracy who in those years went by the title “de Montefrondoso”. Subsequently in the modern age, the fortress, having abandoned its defensive function, became a place of noble residence. The mutation of this structure occurred between the 12th and 14th centuries; during this period the "de Montefrondoso" who had acquired considerable importance and prestige moved towards the city, therefore the absence of figures capable of managing this community led to its degradation. The definitive ruin occurred at the beginning of the 14th century. when its inhabitants abandoned it, under the impulse of the Fumagioli owners of the Castle from the end of the 14th to the 17th century, in which we witnessed a real transformation from a fortress to an elegant country residence. The Fumagiolis were followed by the Floramontis who further accentuated the prestige of this structure by purchasing the church of S. Donato in 1713 which is still visible today, thus allowing the owners to be able to attend religious functions without having to leave. At the end of 1700 the Crispolti family became owners of the territory for a few years, and subsequently in 1800 the Ridolfini Valentini family. Village of Solomeo: About 600 meters away on foot stands the splendid Medieval Village of Solomeo, famous for being the headquarters and home of the Maecenas - Entrepreneur Brunello Cucinelli, owner of the Italian fashion company of the same name known for the production of fine cashmere knitwear, born and developed precisely in the medieval village.
