Cabanas is a small village belonging to the parish of Quinta do Anjo and the Municipality of Palmela, with an excellent location, approximately half an hour from Lisbon, close to Azeitao, Arrabida and Palmela.
Palmela is located in one of the foothills of the Serra da Arrabida, attracted over the centuries the various peoples who passed through the Iberian Peninsula. It is believed that it owes its name to the Romans and the Arabs the construction of the castle at its highest point, from where the entire region that extends between the Sado and Tagus Rivers is dominated. Palmela has been a village for over 600 years, its soil has excellent conditions for the production of grapes and the raising of sheep that are at the origin of the unmistakable Azeitao cheese. Making this an important wine region, where table wines of excellent quality are produced, as well as a fortified wine known as Moscatel de Setubal.
