A small hamlet belonging to the town of Mercadal, it originated from the settlement that formed near the Castle of San Antonio. Historically, it has been a strategic location for the defense of the natural harbor of Fornells, as evidenced by the military structures it houses, some of which can still be visited, such as the Torre de Fornells, the largest defensive watchtower on the entire island. But without a doubt, Fornells is beautiful for its palm-lined promenade along the port. It is a renowned destination for enjoying the famous lobster stew (caldereta de langosta). The area around the port is full of restaurants that serve it, along with other seafood delicacies such as Mahón mussels marinara. Therefore, I wanted to compile some places to see in Fornells, the seaside town in northern Menorca.
