The upper part, very stony, is classified as AOP PLAN DE DIEU. The lower part, a little less stony, is classified in IGP. The Plan de Dieu is a great wine-growing region. Located between Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas, it is currently one of the most dynamic appellations in the Southern Rhone Valley. The red wines produced there are of high quality.
