Description

VILLA MARIGNANA

Mogliano Veneto- Treviso. In the agricultural areas surrounding the town of Mogliano Veneto, in locality Morocco, half an hour drive from Venice and Treviso, we offer the sale of a magnificent and unique historical property. This is Villa Marignana Benetton, an 18th century Venetian villa, built on a 17th century plant, which underwent many changes of ownership, until 1967 when it was acquired by the internationally acclaimed sculptor Toni Benetton, who made it a place of culture and art. The villa now houses the museum "Toni Benetton", with its macro-iron sculptures inserted into the secular park. Toni Benetton is a ‘900 and is considered one of the greatest contemporary sculptors, famous for his work in the field of Monumental Sculptures the International Iron Academy, wanted by the same artist as a point reference for sculptors in the sector, and the Documentation Center international on iron, bronze and other metals. THE VILLA The villa is presented with a very simple scheme with the usual barchessa and consists of four residential blocks and develops according to an L-system. The exterior facade has an essential style, decorated with a wrought iron balcony and a triangular gable. The interior rooms, with sansovina ceilings and walls decorated with stucco, housing a rare red marble fireplace and typical Venetian floors. Two gates worked, with statues attributed to a representative of the family of the sculptor Bonazza, give access to the villa and the surrounding. The ground floor of the Villa Padronale offers a large living room and three charming sitting rooms, while on the first floor we find the rooms and the former granaries overlooking the beautiful view of the garden and the museum park. From the barchessa, framed by large pink oleanders, you enter the stable, where the original Istrian stone horse troughs remain intact. The adjacent consecrated noble chapel dedicated to Saint Anne, still hosts, on request, religious services. THE PARK The main entrance leads to the garden in front of the house, characterized by a paved square, real well and stone seats, in the middle of which enthroned a centuries-old specimen of cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani). The entrance behind the house opens on a park of over 20.000 m², dominated by a flourishing vegetation consisting of large trees and lawns. Furthermore, the whole complex is enriched by numerous sculptural works by Benetton, 70 works by the master realized between 1951 and 1995. The park is a heavenly place where history, art and nature live in perfect harmony. THE HOUSE OF THE ARTIST For those who want to stay in the structure, to enjoy the charm of the art that characterises it, the Villa offers the "Maison d'Artiste". The ground floor includes a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and a double bedroom. On the first floor three double bedrooms surround and ideal area for relaxation in peace with comfortable armchairs and a collection of books to be appreciated by the guests.
