The area offers a full range of cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, banks, and post offices. There are also schools, hospital and health centres, sports centres and of course many outdoor activities available locally. The River Zezere can be reached by the PR8 walking trail which passes the house.

There are road and rail links to both Lisbon and Porto airports and the coast is around 1hour 15 minutes away.
