When the municipality was constituted independently after Selva, in 1925, it received the Spanish name of Mancor del Valle. In 1984, the official name was changed to Mancor de la Vall, but the form Mancor remains the only popular form.~~Heritage:~Mancor de la Vall is of special architectural interest: The chapel of Santa Llúcia, documented for the first time in 1348; the parish church; the Massanella estate and its surroundings; the tafona of Son Morro, with its farmhouse; the Can Marquesí farmhouse, which has a Renaissance window above the doorway in the centre of the façade; the manor house of Son Lluc, located on the main street; Son Collell, which was for many years the town house, conserves a small cloister; Son Simó, the manor house that gives its name to the street where it is located.
