The 'Herdade dos Peixinhos', with an area of about 238 hectares, is located between two rivers in the region of Mora, in the district of Evora in the Alentejo. The property also has a fish farming business, 90% of which is destined for export to foreign markets.
The property is undulating, made up of cleared land and around 85% densely populated with holm oak forests and some cork oaks, carob trees and orange trees. In addition to the business that has been up and running for more than 25 years, there are also two watermills next to the river, which runs with water all year round. Still on the subject of this activity, it is worth mentioning the existence of 18 natural ponds / tanks, duly protected and monitored, for the production of many thousands of small fish to adorn domestic and non-domestic aquariums. The existing qualities of the fish are Goldfish and Shubunkin Goldfish. Stocks vary greatly depending on the time of year. This business dates back to 1987. The rest of the land has been used for grazing sheep.
