Lagoa is situated in the Western Algarve, far from the coastal area, in the fertile lands of the Barrocal. The downstream part of the Arade River delimits Lagoa from the neighbouring municipality of Portimão. The National Road 125, the most important road that crosses the Algarve from east to west, passes directly through the city. From exit 7 of the A22 motorway, you can reach the city centre of Lagoa in a few minutes.
