Ca na Magdalena is a detached house with a private pool facing south from Son Españolet, a quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Palma. A beautiful ceramic and lime mortar building, surrounded by garden of vines, olive trees, orange trees and blue sky to immerse yourself in nature. In its 340 m² interior surface there are four or five bedrooms, five bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, study, wine cellar and gym. Its 330 m² of outdoor spaces are divided between the garden, the porch and the panoramic terrace. On the lower level, the house has rooms that adapt to the personality of its occupants. It could become a space for personal care and growth or a work space. The ground floor spaces are connected in a continuum designed to enjoy the Mediterranean climate all year round. In winter the sun reaches the interior of the room. In summer, the shade of the porch protects the interior from the heat and the wind that comes from the bay, the "embat" (a Mallorquín breeze), refreshes us every midday with the smell of the sea. From the terrace we dominate the skyline of Palma – the typical continuous profile of the Mediterranean city only dotted by the cathedral – and, in the afternoons, we watch the sun set behind the Bellver castle. At night it is the coolest place in the house. A quiet watchtower with the city at your feet and the stars as the ceiling. On its street facades, the house is integrated into the neighborhood through traditional materials (lime mortar, wood and wrought iron) and small vertical windows to reduce thermal losses on the cold side of the house and maintain privacy with respect to the city.
