This Villa is a building with history in the village of Mafra, being known as 'Casa dos Machados', nickname of the family that lived in it for several decades, whose patriarch was a well-known figure in the region as curator of the Tapada de Mafra.
Built in the years 1950/1951 as a residence for the commander of the Mafra Barracks, it is a pure example of 'Estado Novo' architecture inspired by the works of the architect. Raul Lino, having kept the original design in full in the interventions made in 2008 and 2018.
