Beautiful, imposing and historic, the 'Mandorla Amara' farmhouse from the end of the 18th century stands majestically on a hill overlooking the sea, in Puglia, in the countryside between Monopoli (Ba) and Fasano (Br).
It has all the bright colors of the red earth, cooked by the Apulian sun and the intense green of the monumental centuries-old olive groves that surround it.
All the architectural heritage of the immense property has been lovingly preserved, with original features that tell stories at every corner, while the imposing and luxuriant Italian gardens, enclosed by the very high fortified walls create within the property immense green oases with large farmyards of chianche, where all the Mediterranean scents thrive, intoxicating visitors.
The Masseria occupies a lot of about 3 hectares of limited construction and an integral part of an agricultural property that extends for a further 5 hectares, planted with olive, almond and fruit trees with two large independent access avenues.
A long driveway leads to the complex made up of several buildings having different functions, with the farmhouse, located centrally.
The latter is spread over two levels, plus various mezzanines, with a local calcareous tuff wall structure, with the interior divided into a series of large rooms all with windows, formally and constructively different from each other, as they are vaulted with roofs made of tuff and plastered
(cross vaults, barrel vaults with nails, some with pointed arches).

A chapel is also included in the building, an immense jewel, which in this case is part of the main building and is highlighted on the façade only by the door decorated with a pediment and an inscription on the frieze.
The courtyard, which opens beyond the body of the building perpendicular to the main one and intended for production functions, it still retains the limestone paving stones; the main production activities took place in it and it can be considered a sort of farmyard protected by walls.
The pigsty, some animal shelters, the oil mill, warehouses, deposits, areas for processing and drying of fruits and workers' homes.
The buildings of this block are rectangular in shape with one floor, in squared stone ashlars or calcareous tuff; internally they have rustic walls, a barrel, cross or star vaulted roof and paving in split stone and 'chianche'.
The various patios and terraces on the second floor offer an ideal place to relax and enjoy excellent reading and moments of absolute relaxation with a breathtaking view of the surrounding nature and the marina of Monopoli.
In wanting to attempt a periodization of the building complex, it can be said that its definitive layout is comparable to the household settlements that arose concurrently with the introduction and diffusion of woody crops (vines, almond and olive trees) and consequent to that "rediscovery of the countryside ”, which, from the late Enlightenment onwards, marked southern culture.
The main body of the building (former manor house) and the annexes on the ground floor, oil mill, various warehouses and other spaces connected to activities related to the culture of olive trees, can today be converted into high-level accommodation businesses related to rural tourism, which allow placement in such structures of luxury resorts, with connected services such as spas, reception areas and prestigious meetings/events.
The Masseria was recently chosen to be the protagonist of a very famous international high-end jewelery shooting by the well-known Dolce and Gabbana stylists (July 2023).

The beaches of Monopoli and Savelletri, with crystal clear sea, the picturesque surrounding villages, such as Polignano a Mare and San Vito, the characteristic cities such as Alberobello and Cisternino are easily reachable in a few minutes by car.
