Description
We are in the province of Salerno, and here, nestled on a hill, Eboli slumbers in the summer heat. Its old town dominates the final stretch of the Sele Valley, with the city stretching out at its feet. On the upper slopes stands the imposing castle, restored to a design by Vanvitelli, and the Capuchin church also stands in a magnificent location. All around lies the Eboli plain, a diverse landscape of cereals, vegetables, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit orchards. We drive along the picturesque Via Paradiso, a quiet road that leads to a handful of exclusive properties and from which we can already enjoy a fantastic, sweeping view of the city and the surrounding plain. Our visit, after leaving our car in the large parking lot, begins with an aperitif on the first, large terrace facing the entrance portico. Before entering the villa, we let our gaze wander from the Alburnian peaks to the coast of Punta Licosa, all the way to the island of Capri. Accustomed to the mountains of the north, these views enchant me. Feeling the light breeze wafting from the sea here, the warmth of the sun embracing me, makes me want to spend the rest of my short stay here. But I promised you a tour, so let's get up and start with this first room, a large and imposing foyer with elegant marble floors and finishes, Venetian stucco, and crystal chandeliers that immediately convey the property's elegance. On the right is the kitchen, always my favorite gathering place, and with its attractive size, beautiful fireplace, and access to the front terrace, it has all the makings of a central hub for family gatherings and conversations. Also overlooking the foyer is the study, located on the ground floor. It could be useful for those who can't seem to get away from work, but it can also be transformed into a guest room, reading room, or hobby room. Next door is the first of three large bathrooms, with a window and shower. Climbing the splendid exposed marble staircase, illuminated by a series of oval windows, we reach the gallery, where weapons, armor, and antiques are neatly displayed, lending an almost medieval feel. At the end of the gallery is the master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The choice of bay window, a typical feature of Nordic architecture, is both beautiful and unusual. It offers an unparalleled view, which can be enjoyed even better from the large terrace accessible from a small living room located next to the bedroom. Currently, for family reasons, the first floor has been divided into two. To visit the remaining section, we can access it from the two side terraces/gardens that follow the natural contours of the land, where the presence of citrus groves and the constant presence of trees are a constant feature. They then continue admiring the spaciousness and elegance of a large living room furnished with an Italian-style billiards table, the third bathroom, the two bedrooms, one twin and one double, where we find the original bay window, and finally a large room furnished with a kitchenette and an oven for baking bread and the pizza that is a must in the homeland of buffalo mozzarella. What more can we say? The spaces, the finishes, the furnishings, everything has its own order and an elegance of times gone by. Bring your belongings and come live in your own little corner of paradise.
